
At its meeting on Friday evening, the FC Bayern advisory board elected Alexander Sixt as its new chairman. The Munich-born businessman has been a member of the board since the start of this year. Alexandra Schörghuber will continue to serve as his deputy.
Herbert Hainer, FC Bayern president: “Alexander Sixt has everything it takes to support FC Bayern in its continued development. He has extensive business experience and a wide network, and will bring a breath of fresh air to the club. We are delighted to have him on board as chairman of our advisory board and look to the future with confidence.”
Alexander Sixt: “I would like to express my gratitude for the trust placed in me and accept this role with great respect. FC Bayern has been a part of my life for as long as I can remember. I have been a member of the club since my early youth. I would like to play my part on the advisory board to ensure that FC Bayern continues to set the standard both on and off the pitch.”
Sixt, 46, is Co-CEO of SIXT SE. Before joining the company in 2009, he studied finance and accounting at ESCP in Paris, London and Berlin, and worked for Deutsche Bank in London and the strategy consultancy Roland Berger.
