FC Bayern World Squad visit Audi Driving Experience Center in Neuburg
Last Friday, the FC Bayern World Squad travelled to Audi’s facilities in Neuburg. Whereas in recent years the programme had included a tour of the Audi Forum in Ingolstadt, this time the team gained a completely different insight into the world of FC Bayern’s partner at the Audi Driving Experience Center. For head coach Roy Makaay, it was above all the combination of the tour, the race track and the shared experiences that made the morning so special. “You could see how much the players enjoyed it,” said the former Bayern striker.
During the tour of the Audi Driving Experience Center, the players were given an insight into Audi’s world of motorsport. In a presentation, the young talents were given fascinating insights into the brand’s motorsport history, its major successes of the past and its current Formula 1 project.

The highlight of the day then awaited them on the race track with a test drive in the Audi RS e-tron GT Performance as the players got to experience the car’s speed and handling first-hand. This part of the programme was also met with great enthusiasm and smiles.
Just how much the experience captivated the team was also evident from the reaction of World Squad striker Germano Poniewas: “That was my first time in an Audi and it was brilliant. It was crazy to see how fast the car can go.” He was particularly impressed by the combination of speed, cornering and acceleration. He was also thrilled by the whole day’s programme: “I’m a Formula 1 fan and for me this new environment was incredibly exciting.”

To show their appreciation for this special day, the FC Bayern World Squad, together with head coach Makaay and assistant coach Diego Contento, presented Audi with two shirts. In addition to an FC Bayern shirt featuring the World Squad 2026 logo, there was also another jersey bearing the name Maycon Cardozo. The former World Squad player from the Class of ‘24 is a prime example of the development opportunities within the project, having made his debut for FC Bayern’s first team last season.
For the Class of ‘26, the visit to Neuburg was therefore not only an exciting outing away from the pitch but also a special insight into a different world of top-level sport.
