A special football experience for children with the World Squad

After the World Squad visited the Audi driving experience centre in Neuburg at the start of their trip, the team received special visitors at the training ground on Säbener Straße on Thursday: 19 football-mad children from Ingolstadt travelled to Munich to take part in a joint training session with the Class of 26.

Christian Schüller, Director of Experiential and Sports Marketing at Audi, was delighted with the training day at Säbener Straße: “Today, thanks to Audi, children from Ingolstadt have the opportunity to take part in a training session alongside the World Squad team. For the kids, this is something very special – a real insight into how young talents work and pursue their dream of becoming professional footballers.”

This year, the children’s training session at Germany’s record champions training ground took on a special character: the players from the current World Squad developed the exercises for the 19 participants themselves. Together, they started with a warm-up programme, followed by shooting drills and small-sided games. To round things off, the goalkeepers from the Class of ’26 took part in a penalty shoot-out. At the end, the coaching duo of Roy Makaay and Diego Contento also took time out for photos with the children.

Head coach Roy Makaay praised his team: “It was lovely to see how the lads took responsibility and put thought into coming up with suitable drills,” said the former Bayern striker. At the same time, he emphasised the importance of the partnership with Audi for the FC Bayern World Squad: “Audi plays a major role in ensuring the players can be here at all. The kids’ training session has now become an integral part of the project – a great experience for the children and for the lads in the World Squad.”

As part of the international youth football project FC Bayern World Squad, the record German champions and their partner Audi support U19 players from all over the world every year in realising their big dream: to become professional footballers. At the same time, initiatives such as the kids’ training sessions ensure that young football fans can enjoy unforgettable experiences and get a close-up look at professional football.
