'Diaz‘ Denkfabrik' wins fourth quiz night for FC Bayern members
FC Bayern invited its members to its fourth quiz night at Clubheim *1900. After a welcome from deputy managing director of FC Bayern eV Kiki Hasenpusch, senior vice-president Prof Dr Dieter Mayer delivered greetings on behalf of president Herbert Hainer and deputy vice-president Walter Mennekes. Mayer said FC Bayern members’ quiz nights “are almost on a par with ‘Who Wants to Be a Millionaire?’” – and added with a grin: “Unfortunately, we can’t offer the same prize money.” The atmosphere was still excellent – the members responded with applause and laughter.

FC Bayern has been regularly hosting members’ events since 2022. In the past twelve months alone, the programme ranged from the promotion walk around Lake Tegernsee to workshops and behind-the-scenes insights into basketball and FC Bayern Women, as well as a meeting with the executive committee, curling at Nockherberg, the first skittles tournament at Säbener Straße and now the quiz night to round off the season, explained Kiki Hasenpusch: “As a club, we want to encourage dialogue and participation.” There was once again a lot of interest: around 365 entries were received, 48 members were selected by lottery. Norbert Schacht had travelled the furthest, having come from Düsseldorf.
Mayer stressed “that all these formats are important to us because despite our 432,500 members, we want to remain an approachable club – our club wouldn’t be what it is today without our members.” He thanked managing director Benny Folkmann, who was attending a parallel event, and the entire team who have organised about 25 events this season. After the intro, the time had come: phones off, full focus!

FCB staff members Fabian Raabe and Martin Kummer – a member since 1989 – acted as quiz masters. There were three rounds with six questions on the past season each. The rankings behind the top three: “Olises Orakel“ (35 points), “Kimmichs Quizkader“ (31.5), “Gwinn or Lose“ and “Neuers Kastencrew“ (31 each) as well as “Obsts Volltreffern“ (30). Everyone received certificates, the winners were presented with FCB-themed glasses. At FC Bayern, it’s not just about celebrating together, but also puzzling together – the team like to claim the German championship title early on, but the quiz night remains exciting until the end.
