New signing for the FC Bayern reserves: talented South Korean left-back Doyeon Kim has moved to Munich from the youth setup at top-flight side Daejeon Hana Citizen and has been handed a long-term contract with the German record champions’ reserves. Bayern only recently signed another South Korean, youth goalkeeper Jae-Won Heo, for their U19s.
Head of sport and youth development Michael Wiesinger: “Doyeon has been training with us on trial for some time and has impressed us enough to warrant a move to our club. We've had good experiences with young players from South Korea in recent years and are confident that Doyeon, too, will take the next step in his development with our reserves.”

18-year-old Doyeon Kim joined the Daejeon Hana Academy in the summer of 2021, where he played for the U15s and, most recently, the U18s. He has made 12 appearances for the South Korean U17 national side. At FC Bayern, he's following in the footsteps of his compatriots Woo-Yeong Jeong (now at Union Berlin) and Hyunju Lee (FC Arouca), who both used the Bayern reserves as a springboard to successful professional careers in Europe.
