FC Bayern has extended its partnership with global fintech platform Adyen. The partnership has been in place since 2023. As the club’s exclusive payment solutions partner, Adyen manages the club’s payment processing across all sales channels, not least in connection with home fixtures at the Allianz Arena and at FC Bayern stores.
Rouven Kasper, FC Bayern board member for marketing and sales: “What matters in this partnership is that the perfect stadium experience simply has to be enjoyable for our fans. The payment process should run seamlessly and invisibly in the background. Thanks to our partnership with Adyen, this is the case throughout our Allianz Arena, in our shops and other locations. Together, we form an extremely innovative team that sets global benchmarks and is constantly evolving. This brings benefits for Adyen, FC Bayern and, above all, for our fans in their day-to-day lives.”
Hella Fuhrmann, Adyen country manager for Germany, Austria and Switzerland: “At major events, payment isn’t just a supporting act. It’s crucial to the fan experience. The extension of our partnership with FC Bayern proves that our technology sets the standard for the entire live entertainment industry. When maximum performance runs smoothly behind the scenes, it creates real added value for fans and event organisers.”
With 75,000 fans, a 15-minute half-time break and thousands of payments at the Allianz Arena, payment systems must perform just as reliably as the team on the pitch on matchdays. Since 2023, catering, shops, ticketing and e-commerce have been running on a single platform, with all fan touchpoints interconnected. At a sold-out match, tens of thousands of people flock to the same sales points almost simultaneously. Every second counts, and since switching to Adyen, payments at the Allianz Arena have been processed on average three seconds faster. Less time queuing means more time to enjoy FC Bayern matches. Another particular benefit of the partnership is that, with Adyen Giving, fans can also donate to FC Bayern Hilfe e.V. directly at the payment terminal. Adyen covers the transaction fees, meaning 100 percent of every donation can be put to good use.
