FC Bayern publishes 2024/25 sustainability report

As part of its Mitnand (Bavarian for ‘together’) sustainability strategy, FC Bayern has published its sustainability report for the third year running, once again highlighting how Germany’s record champions are taking responsibility for the environment, society and sustainable club management. The report looks back on the 2024/25 season, highlights progress in key areas of action and also looks to the future. It covers the entire club, including FC Bayern München AG with all its subsidiaries, FC Bayern München e.V. and FC Bayern München Basketball GmbH, thereby making it clear that sporting success, economic strength and forward-looking action are inseparable at FC Bayern.

FC Bayern can look back on a successful 2024/25 season both on the pitch and financially. The men’s and women’s football teams both won the Bundesliga, with the basketball team also crowned domestic champions. That was coupled with record turnover of €978 million for FC Bayern AG, underlining the club’s strength whilst reaffirming its commitment to living up to this position through responsible conduct. The report places particular emphasis on the 20th anniversary of the Allianz Arena. FC Bayern’s home ground uniquely combines sporting success, emotional fan experiences and concrete measures in the areas of infrastructure and environmental management. The report outlines specific measures in the areas of energy efficiency, renewable energy, mobility, and waste and resource management. These include, for example, the heat pump partnership with Viessmann, the Bike Matchday and the new electric vehicle charging station at the Allianz Arena.

By continuing initiatives such as Red against Racism and OBACHT, introducing new educational and engagement formats for supporters, and through the social commitment of the women’s, men’s and basketball teams, FC Bayern underlines its close ties to supporters, members, partners and the wider community. In the area of governance, the report also shows how the club is adapting to new legal requirements through a strengthened compliance structure, new climate risk analyses at relevant locations and the targeted expansion of its own energy generation.

“Taking responsibility is part of FC Bayern’s DNA. Sustainability is an essential part of our social responsibility and will continue to play an important role for our club in the future. Our focus is always on our fans and the values that unite us as a community. With our guiding principle of Mitnand, we express the idea that we can only bring about lasting change by working together. Genuine progress cannot be achieved alone but only when everyone pulls together. Matches are also won as a team,” said Rouven Kasper, FC Bayern München AG board member for marketing and sales, also in charge of overseeing sustainability.

From 8 October, the 2024/25 Sustainability Report will be available on the sustainability portal of the FC Bayern website as a PDF download in German and English, and – as in the previous year – in easy-to-read language. In this way, the club is underlining its commitment not only to practising responsible conduct internally, but also to communicating it in a way that is understandable, transparent and accessible to all — both today and looking ahead to the years to come.
