Pretty much every local club in Germany dreams of a friendly at home to Bayern. On Tuesday, NFV Gelb-Weiß Görlitz 09 became one of the few to see the dream come true. To mark the club’s centenary, Bayern visited the most eastern city in the country, where former FCB stalwart Jens Jeremies was born 35 years ago and learned the football basics with Gelb-Weiß until the age of 12.
“One of Bayern’s trademarks is our closeness to our fan base. We’re celebrating a special milestone here, and Jens was one of the most loyal servants of the club. The match came about because of our contacts with him and we’re delighted to be here,“ commented FCB director of sport Christian Nerlinger shortly before kick-off.
