Bayern were far and away the better side against Turin giants Juventus in their second Champions League Group A fixture, but the Bavarians faded after a genuinely excellent first-half display and were ultimately forced to settle for a share of the spoils against the obdurate but uninspired Italians.
The 66,000 sell-out crowd at the Allianz Arena saw the home side turn in their best first half of the season so far, a controlled attacking display punctuated by moments of sublime skill, although there was a minor blemish in that Bayern failed to net the opening goal despite a host of chances.
The intensity dropped for a long spell after the restart, and the tiring sides ultimately opted for a point apiece as the second period fell far short of the first in terms of quality and entertainment.
With French champions Girondins Bordeaux huffing and puffing their way to a 1-0 home win over Maccabi Haifa, the draw in Munich means Bayern remain top of the Group A standings on four points, ahead of the French on goal difference.
