Bayern were held to a goalless stalemate by a gritty Stuttgart side on Saturday in a tight encounter with very few scoring opportunities for either team.
A 42,000 full house at the Mercedes-Benz Arena saw Stuttgart open brightly but Bayern gain the upper hand after quarter of an hour, although chances were thin on the ground at both ends. The game developed into a war of attrition in the second half, with neither side capable of the moment of inspiration to break the deadlock.
With results elsewhere on Saturday afternoon largely going Munich's way, the draw sees FCB claw back another point on the top teams, currently Werder Bremen, Leverkusen and Hamburg, all on 22 points to Bayern's 19, although the situation could change depending on the rest of the weekend programme.
