Bayern surged to a fifth win on the bounce with a clinical exhibition of pressing, passing and finishing in a one-sided meeting with outclassed strugglers Bochum on Saturday.
The 30,748 full house at rewirpower Stadium in the heart of the Ruhr Valley saw the visitors boss proceedings from the off and power into a three-goal half-time lead through Mario Gomez, a Mergim Mavraj own goal, and Ivica Olic. The Croatia hitman completed his brace five minutes after the restart, and Danijel Pranjic opened his account in a red shirt to make it five before the hour was up. Christian Fuchs fired a consolation for the home side, but it was the only blemish in an otherwise flawless FCB display.
The thumping result moves Bayern up to second in the standings after 16 games on 30 points, now just two off leaders Bayer Leverkusen, although the positions could change again once the weekend fixtures conclude on Sunday evening.
