Wednesday's dress rehearsal for the DFB Cup first round trip to Regensburg next Monday went off with barely a hitch as Bayern beat fourth division Seligenporten 3-1, rounding off their programme of 12 pre-season friendly matches with another win. Reserve starlet Kevin Friesenbichler, already a headline-maker from previous friendlies against Ismaning and Trentino, scored all three goals for the Reds.
In the absence of the club's current internationals, Jupp Heynckes fielded a line-up incorporating six U-19 hopefuls in the shape of Nikola Jelisic, Sebastian Mrowca, Edwin Schwarz, Alexander Sieghart, Benno Schmitz and Friesenbichler. They were joined by captain for the night Bastian Schweinsteiger, gaining match practice after his recent ankle injury, plus four other first-team squad members in Tom Starke, Luis Gustavo, Emre Can and Mitchell Weiser.
