Alaba makes comeback in 2-0 friendly win

The first warm-up match of this summer's pre-season saw FCB beat third division Unterhaching by the only goal of the game. The scorer some three months ago was David Alaba - and in Thursday's second friendly against the club from the Munich suburbs, the spotlight again fell on the talented Austrian. Fully 12 weeks after David sustained a fracture to the foot, he returned to action as Bayern defeated Haching 2-0.

“We made good chances in the first half but lacked a little bit of concentration. Overall we deserved to win and my lads really threw themselves into it," commented boss Jupp Heynckes, “David was very busy and covered a lot of ground. It was a good test for him." The player himself was satisfied afterwards: “It was definitely okay for the first match, but obviously I have plenty of room to improve."

Seven seniors in starting line-up

Heynckes arranged the warm-up match at short notice, partly to provide Alaba with match practice. The Austrian was joined in the starting line-up by six other senior squad members in Tom Starke, Diego Contento, Dante, Rafinha, Luiz Gustavo and Mitch Weiser. Arjen Robben was unavailable with a hamstring problem, so the rest of the team comprised players from the reserves and the club’s under-19 youths, due to the absence of all the current internationals at the moment.
