Exactly a month before the opening match of the new Bundesliga season, Bayern maintained their prefect record in pre-season friendlies with a 3-0 win on Tuesday evening against Italian second division outfit Brescia Calcio, one of Pep Guardiola’s former clubs. The Spaniard’s new team prevailed 3-0 in an entertaining game thanks to first-half goals from Thomas Müller and Toni Kroos, with Jan Kirchhoff heading the last-minute third.
Compared to the Paulaner Dream Team clash last Friday, Guardiola made a raft of starting changes and sent out a side comprising mainly experienced players, with the exception of 17-year-old starlet Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg in the holding position. Arjen Robben, who has only just resumed training, was not in the match squad and worked out with fitness coach Andreas Kornmayer on an adjacent pitch at the sports facility in Arco.
