Bara Sapoko Ndiaye: News & player profile - FC Bayern Munich

Bara Sapoko Ndiaye is a physically strong defensive midfielder who loves running and tackling. He came through the ranks at Gambinos Stars Africa in The Gambia. Since 2023, the Academy has been working in partnership with Red&Gold Football, the joint venture between FC Bayern and Los Angeles FC, to develop international talent. In 2025, he spent two months training with the FC Bayern reserves and the U19s, and took part in his first training sessions with the first team. In the summer, he moved to Grasshoppers in Zurich, where he took part in pre-season and featured in friendlies against Celta Vigo and FC Bayern. Last winter, his career hit its first milestone: Bara joined FC Bayern on loan from Gambinos Stars Africa and has been part of the first team squad ever since.

One appearance at the 2026 World Cup

Ndiaye made his Bundesliga debut in April 2026 in FC Bayern’s 5-0 win at FC St. Pauli. By the end of the 2025/26 season, he had added three more appearances for the Munich side in the top flight. Bara was subsequently called up to the Senegal national team for the World Cup in Mexico, the USA and Canada, where he made one appearance, coming off the bench in the 3-2 loss to Belgium in extra time in the round of 32.
