René Marić joined FC Bayern in November 2023 as team lead coaching development and playing philosophy. He was previously assistant coach for Leeds United, also working at Borussia Dortmund, Borussia Mönchengladbach and in the Red Bull Salzburg academy.
Link between first team and youth
As well as working as Vincent Kompany’s assistant coach, Marić will also remain in his previous position at the FC Bayern Campus, acting as the link between the first and youth teams. He oversaw the club’s U19s as coach in the second half of the 2023/24 season, reaching the quarter-finals of the UEFA Youth League for the first time in Bayern’s history.
