Dayot Upamecano has been at Bayern since summer 2021. The central defender was born in France and started his professional career at RB Salzburg. He later moved to Leipzig in the Bundesliga, where he played for a total of four years before joining the German record champions.

World Cup runner-up with France

Upamecano made his debut for the senior French national team in September 2020 and has been a regular in Les Bleus squad since then. He was a key figure for Didier Deschamps’ side at the 2022 World Cup in Qatar, playing five out of seven matches in their entirety – including over 120 minutes in the final against Argentina, in which France lost on penalties.
