Hiroki Ito has been an FC Bayern player since July 2024. The Japanese, who can play both in the centre and on the left of defence as well as in defensive midfield, previously spent three years at VfB Stuttgart. Ito made 97 appearances in all competitions for the Swabians, scoring two goals, and established himself as a reliable and technically gifted defender in the Bundesliga. The left-footer began his career at boyhood club Júbilo Iwata, for whom he made his professional debut in a J.League Cup match against Hokkaido Consadole Sapporo in April 2018. He stayed there, except for a loan move to Nagoya Grampus in 2019, until his move to Germany in summer 2021.

Japanese international

Ito has represented his country at every level from U15 and made his senior debut in a 4-1 friendly win against Paraguay in June 2022. Around a year later, the defensive specialist scored his first goal for the Samurai Blue in another 4-1 friendly victory against Peru. He was part of Japan's squad for the 2022 World Cup as well as the 2023 Asian Cup.
