Ismael Saibari can play as an attacking midfielder, a winger and as a centre-forward, and excels in one-on-one situations thanks to his strong dribbling and goal-scoring instinct, as well as in defensive situations due to his pressing instinct. The right-footed player has been under contract with FC Bayern since 1 July 2026. Born on 28 January 2001 in Terrassa, Spain, near Barcelona, Saibari moved to Belgium with his family at the age of six. He learned his trade at clubs including RSC Anderlecht, KV Mechelen and KRC Genk, before making the move to PSV Eindhoven in the Dutch Eredivisie in the summer of 2020.
In November 2020, Saibari made his debut for PSV’s first team in a 4-0 win against ADO Den Haag, and just four days later he also made his European debut in the Europa League in a 4-1 defeat at PAOK Thessaloniki. With Eindhoven, Saibari celebrated a total of three league titles and two cup victories, and was named Player of the Year there for his outstanding performances during the 2025/26 season. On his 25th birthday, he scored a spectacular goal in the 2-1 defeat to FC Bayern in the Champions League group stage, a performance that likely helped secure his move to the German record champions six months later.

Although Saibari would also have been eligible to play for the Spanish and Belgian national teams, he opted for Morocco, his parents’ homeland, for whom he had already played at youth level. With the Moroccan Under 23s, he won the Under 23 Africa Cup of Nations in the summer of 2023. Shortly afterwards, in September 2023, he made his debut for the North African side’s senior team in a 1-0 win in Burkina Faso. During the Africa Cup of Nations victory on home soil in the winter of 2025–26 – in which Morocco were subsequently awarded the title following the final against Senegal – he started all six games, scoring one goal. The following summer, Saibari was also a key player for Morocco at the World Cup in Mexico, Canada and the USA, where he scored three goals in his first four appearances as the team reached the quarter-finals, before being sidelined by an injury.
