Luis Díaz, nicknamed “Lucho”, is a Colombian forward who joined FC Bayern in 2025. In his first season with the German record champions, he was instrumental in the domestic double with 45 goal involvements in 51 appearances in all competitions. In October 2025, he scored in spectacular style in a Bundesliga match at Union Berlin, which was later crowned Goal of the Year in Germany. Comfortable on both the left wing and in the centre of attack, he’s renowned for his fast acceleration, energetic game and strong dribbling.

Colombian international

The forward is also a key player for the Colombian national team. At the 2021 Copa América, he helped Colombia to third place and was the tournament's joint top scorer with four goals. At the 2024 Copa América, he even reached the final with Colombia, where they lost 1-0 to Argentina after extra time. At World Cup 2026, the tournament ended in the round of 16 for him and Los Cafeteros.

Díaz started playing football in his hometown of Barrancas, which is where he turned pro before moving to Europe to FC Porto in summer 2019. After three years there, where he scored 41 goals in 125 appearances in all competitions and won the domestic double in Portugal in 2020 among other things, he joined Liverpool FC in summer 2020. He played a total of 148 competitive matches for the English giants, scoring 41 goals, and won the FA Cup in 2022 as well as the Premier League title in 2025.
