Sven Ulreich started his second spell at FC Bayern in July 2021. The goalkeeper had already played for the German record champions from 2015 to 2020, but then moved to Hamburger SV for a year. Together with Manuel Neuer, he formed FCB’s goalkeeping duo for years and has always been a reliable deputy when needed.
Product of Stuttgart academy
He learned his trade in the youth set-up at VfB Stuttgart, for whom he also later played at senior level. During his time at FCB, Ulreich has won the Champions League, the Bundesliga, the DFB Cup, the DFL Supercup and the UEFA Super Cup. Ulreich enjoyed his most successful period at the record champions between 2020 and 2021, when he won the ‘sextuple’ with the Munich club. He received a call-up to the German national team in 2019 for European Championship qualifying, but never featured.
