Tom Bischof is a versatile midfielder, who can operate as a number 10, a holding midfielder and also on the wings. From his boyhood club TSV Amorbach he joined TSG Hoffenheim in 2015, where he worked his way up to the first team. Bischof became Hoffenheim’s youngest player to date in the Bundesliga in March 2022 at the age of just 16. In the following years, the midfielder became a staple at TSG and also gained a reputation for his long-distance shooting. At the start of 2025, Bischof announced he would be joining FC Bayern from the summer. Thanks to his versatility, he earned a place in the Munich side and made no fewer than 39 appearances for the record champions in his maiden season.
Call-up for Germany
Bischof represented Germany at all youth levels from U16 to U21. In 2024 he was awarded the gold Fritz Walter Medal as the most promising talent in the under-19 category. In late May 2025 he was called up for the senior German natonal team for the first time for the Final Four of the UEFA Nations League tournament, where he made his debut in the third-place play-off 2-0 loss to France.
