FC Bayern are wrapping up a successful training camp this week in South Tyrol as they prepare for the new season. On Tuesday morning, the team had their final strength and conditioning session at the nearby stadium. The best news of all, though, was the arrival and reunion of the German international contingent (Robin Benzing, Heiko Schaffartzik and Lucca Staiger). Only Serbian center Vladimir Stimac is left to join as he is busy at the World Cup in Spain with his national side.
"The conditions in Bruneck were ideal," said coach Svetislav Pesic. "We wanted to get to know each other better. Team building is very important here, and we need to integrate the new players and get them to identify with FC Bayern." Pesic was optimistic about the team's progress so far, but being the perfectionist he is, he will always demand more: "The players' fitness is better than last year. 100 percent is not enough, 110 percent yes."
Bayern will play their first test match of pre-season this coming weekend with three games planned. The full pre-season schedule can be found here.
The start of the Beko Basketball Bundesliga season is four weeks away and exact match and kickoff times have been finalized with Fridays (20:00), Saturdays (18:30 and 20:30) and Sundays (15:00 and 17:00) the dedicated time slots for games.
