FC Bayern Basketball ended their training camp in Belgrade with a victory: They beat Serbian Cup finalists KK Mega Leks 88-81 in a friendly. The game was played in front of 2,000 supporters. Ahead of tip-off, FCBB play maker Vasilije Micic was honoured by his former club.
Bayern were strong throughout the entire 40 minutes. It was an intensive game in Svetislav Pesic’s homeland and the hosts found themselves 26-18 in front at the end of the first quarter. An increased defensive performance, coupled with better control of the boards, saw Bayern have a 44-29 lead at the break. Bayern’s top scorer was Nihad Djedovic, who scored 19 of his 21 points before the interval.
The regular season enters its final phase on Friday (17th April, 20:00 CEST) when table-toppers Bamberg come to the Audi Dome. Tickets for the game have already sold out. Bayern are currently third in the table and if they remain there, they will have home advantage in the first round of the play-offs, which start on Saturday, 9th May.
