World and European Champion Simone Laudehr will join the FC Bayern women from 1. FFC Frankfurt. The 29-year-old will sign a three-year contract through June 30, 2019.
The native Bavarian is a familiar face after getting her Bundesliga start with FC Bayern in the 2003/4 season before joining FCR 2001 Duisburg (2004-2012) and 1. FFC Frankfurt (2012-2015). Laudehr has enjoyed success both domestically and internationally, including the Champions League (2015) and UEFA Women’s Cup (2009).
Simone Laudehr: “I’m really looking forward to the new challenge at FC Bayern Munich. The team has shown the potential it has after winning the German championship two years in a row. That shows the outstanding work of all those involved. Of course it was also a matter of the heart for me as a native Bavarian and to play for the club that gave me my start in the Bundesliga. Now I’d like to help the team internationally with my experience and continue their success story in the Champions League.”
Thomas Wörle: “Simone is a pretty complete and very experienced, determined player. I’m looking forward to the collaboration at FC Bayern. She’ll definitely strengthen our squad with her skills as well as her winning mentality.”
