FC Bayern has today announced the launch of their Spanish language online shop as part of the German giant’s strategy to better connect with fans in Latin America.
“We have over 130 million followers in the Americas alone and over two thirds of them are native Spanish speakers,” commented FC Bayern Munich’s President of the Americas, Rudolf Vidal. “Last year’s fan survey in the Americas showed that over half of the respondents felt it was important to have language specific websites and social media. We’ve responded by putting more resource behind Spanish language content and launching the Spanish online shop,” he added.
FC Bayern has official fan clubs in 14 different countries in Latin America with the Guadalajara, Mexico fan club being the second largest in the world outside of Germany. In addition, there are over 11 million social media followers from LATAM, resulting in heavy traffic to FC Bayern platforms from that region.
The online shop, which already exists in German and English, offers more than 1,200 products ranging from home goods to the latest kits. Services, including innovative digital jersey customization, makes the fan experience much more enjoyable. Fans can expect a 4 working day delivery period directly from Germany via DHL.
FC Bayern opened their New York based office in 2014 to engage with the millions of fans living in North and South America. The 2017 fan survey saw over 20,000 fans take the opportunity to have their say and help shape the club’s presence in the Americas, delivering initiatives that are important to them.
The online shop is based on SAP Hybris, helping FC Bayern deliver a contextual, personalized, and multi device shopping experience
