FC Bayern and OSC Lille agreed on a deal for the transfer of Renato Sanches (22) to the French first division club on Friday.
FC Bayern München CEO Karl-Heinz Rummenigge said: “Renato Sanches asked us to agree to the transfer because he wanted to join a club where he can play on a regular basis. Unfortunately, we were unable to guarantee that at FC Bayern. Match practice is also important to him because he wants a place in the Portugal squad for EURO 2020. I would like to thank Renato for his performances, and on behalf of FC Bayern I wish him all the best for the future.”
Hasan Salihamidzic said: “Renato joined us from Benfica at the age of 18 and was part of our team which won many titles. He always gave everything for the team and our club. I would like to thank Renato for that.”
Renato Sanches made 53 competitive appearances for FC Bayern, scoring two goals. He won two German championship titles (2017, 2019), the DFB Cup (2019) and three DFL Supercup titles (2016, 2017 and 2018) with Munich. Sanches spent the 2017/18 season on loan at Swansea City, a Premier League side at that time.
