Bayern Basketball has filled two vacant positions on its coaching staff: Slaven Rimac has joined the ranks of assistant coaches around head coach Andrea Trinchieri. The 46-year-old Croatian succeeds Adriano Vertemati, who returned this offseason to Italy. Rimac played in his professional career for his hometown club Cibona Zagreb, in Spain, Italy, Greece and France, among others; for Croatia he participated in the 1996 Summer Olympics. He later worked in Zagreb as an assistant and head coach (Adriatic League title in 2014), then most recently in 2019/2020 for Ljubljana the Slovenia-based fusion club Cedevita Olimpija. Rimac's colleagues will be Djordje Adzic, Demond Greene and Emilio Kovacic (Player Development).
The new trainer for the FCBB is Luka Svilar, who - like his predecessor Marcus Lindner - most recently worked for Unics Kasan in Russia. From 2016 to 2020, the 32-year-old Croatian held this position at Spanish EuroLeague team Baskonia Vítorian.
There are also two new additions to the extended team behind the team: In the medical team, Hannes Degenhardt is succeeded by his colleague Sebastian Lappen from the Technical University of Munich. The newly created position of Head of Team Operations & Logistics is now occupied by Ivan Djerman.
