Since 1982, every World Cup final has featured at least one FC Bayern player, underscoring the club’s unmatched legacy of shaping the tournament’s defining moments.
With 17 FC Bayern players representing their nations on football’s biggest stage this summer, we’re inviting fans to take part in an interactive tournament‑long challenge to crown FC Bayern’s MVP of the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
Follow every performance, vote for your standout player after each round of the tournament, and enter for a chance to win exciting prizes! Here’s everything you need to know.

How it works
Throughout the FIFA World Cup, fans will be able to vote on which FC Bayern player was the standout performer in each round of the tournament. Voting will take place at the end of each of the following rounds:
- Group Stage
- Round of 32
- Round of 16
- Quarter Finals
- Semi Finals
- Final
Once the voting closes for each respective round, all votes will be counted, and players will be awarded points based on their ranking:
- 1st place = 3 Points
- 2nd place = 2 Points
- 3rd place = 1 Point
As the rounds progress, points will be accumulated, and players will be placed into a live leaderboard, which will be updated after each round. After the final voting round, the player with the most points accumulated throughout the tournament will be crowned FC Bayern’s MVP of the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
How to participate
In order to take part, fans must complete the following steps:
- At the start of each voting period (see the full calendar below), revisit this page either through the FC Bayern website or via the official FC Bayern App
- Select your MVP from the voting template
- When prompted, enter the requested personal information to submit your vote
- Once the voting period for that round has closed and all votes have been counted, you’ll receive a newsletter recapping the key moments from the round and sharing the voting results
Sweepstakes
For each of the six voting rounds, every fan who submits a vote will be entered into a sweepstake with a chance to win FC Bayern’s official home & away kits for the upcoming 2026-2027 season.
The winner will be announced in the newsletter recapping the voting results.
*Only fans residing in the United States are eligible to enter the sweepstakes.
Fans around the world are still welcome, and encouraged, to participate in the voting, but they will not be entered into the sweepstakes.

- Group Stage: Saturday, June 27 – Monday, June 29, 12:00 AM ET
- Round of 32: Friday, July 3 – Saturday, July 4, 12:00 AM ET
- Round of 16: Tuesday, July 7 – Wednesday, July 8, 12:00 AM ET
- Quarter Finals: Saturday, July 11 – Sunday, July 12, 12:00 AM ET
- Semi Finals: Wednesday, July 15 – Thursday, July 16, 12:00 AM ET
- Final: Sunday, July 19 – Monday, July 20, 12:00 AM ET
In the event that no FC Bayern players reach the World Cup final, voting will wrap up after the last round where a Bayern player was involved.
