Full focus on Wolfsburg

Three games, three wins, with ten goals scored and none conceded: FC Bayern are on the up in this week with three fixtures. "We're in a good moment," said Carlo Ancelotti. The FCB head coach and his players already have their eyes on the next three points, in the last home game during the Oktoberfest against VfL Wolfsburg on Friday night (live in English from 20.30 CEST on our Ticker and Web Radio). "Of course, we want to win to continue the run. But we'll have to be on our toes."

The Wolves will be determined to get a result. "It will be difficult. They have a new coach. And teams are always motivated after a change of coach. It will be the same again tomorrow," warned Ancelotti. Martin Schmidt took the helm at Wolfsburg from former Munich man Andries Jonker on Monday. He earned his first point for VfL the next day with a 1-1 draw against Werder Bremen. Since then he's had time to get to know his new players better and have his input.

Robben returns, Thiago sidelined

Schmidt is the last Bundesliga coach to take a point away from a visit to the Allianz Arena, as his Mainz side drew 2-2 in Munich in April. "I know we had lots of problems against Mainz last season," recalled Ancelotti.

Of the two FCB goalscorers from that game, only one is available to play: Arjen Robben returns after a bout of flu but Thiago is sidelined after picking up a knock in training on Wednesday. Ancelotti is hoping the Spaniard will be fit again next Wednesday for the match against Paris Saint-Germain. David Alaba is also due to return to the squad after recovering from an ankle injury.

No thoughts of PSG

Talking of Paris: The eagerly-awaited Champions League clash with PSG is off the agenda on Friday night. "We have to be fully focused and completely forget about Paris," said Sven Ulreich who again deputises for Manuel Neuer in goal. "If we can produce a repeat of the good performance against Schalke at home on Friday I'm sure we'll get a result. But only if we put in 100 percent."

Wolfsburg are the fifth opponents for Bayern in the past 14 days. "We have lots of games. I want to rotate a number of players," said Ancelotti, announcing changes to his starting line-up. The FCB head coach is not thinking of resting players for the match in Paris: "The most important game at the moment is against Wolfsburg. After that we have five days to prepare for the game against PSG." And a win will be the best possible preparation.
