There was lots of fun and plenty of goals in Bayern’s last game before the summer break. As part of SpVgg Lindau’s 100th anniversary celebrations the double winners visited the traditional Bavarian club for a friendly match on Wednesday evening. The 4-2 (2-1) defeat didn’t detract from an unforgettable event for the home side and it was a nice end to a great season for FCB. After the final whistle, the Munich team members went on a highly deserved holiday or to their respective national squads.
In the sold-out municipal stadium on the Reutiner Straße, the third placed team in the Kreisliga A (Bodensee division) had a great opportunity to take the lead in the 13th minute. Sven Ulreich saved the header from a corner and Serhat Akkas’ rebound was blocked. Bayern were dominant and took a 2-0 lead through Resul Türkkalesi (22) and Paul Will (25) after a number of chances. Birthday boy Alexander Koppers kept Lindau in the game with some good saves. The hosts dared to push forward again and in the 44th minute Musa Gaye scored for SpVgg to make it 2-1 with wild celebrations.
After the break, the roles were almost completely reversed, and the home side managed to equalise through Amir Bolic (73). The long and exhausting season was taking its toll on the record champions, but they didn’t want to go into the holidays with a defeat. In the final phases of the match, Batista Meier forced an own goal from Daniel Fritzler (82). The home side had a double chance to equalize again (86), but overall they were happy about an incredible experience. The final blow was struck by Kingsley Coman to make it 4-2 in the 89th minute.
