"Energy connects“ is the leitmotif of the new premium partnership between FC Bayern Munich and E.ON Energie, which came into effect on 1 July 2008. Both FC Bayern and E.ON Energie, one of Europe's largest energy service providers with its headquarters in Munich, are successful businesses and leaders in their commercial sectors.
"It is wonderful to be able to count E.ON Energie as an FC Bayern Munich sponsor," enthused Uli Hoeneß at the announcement of the partnership, "both E.ON Energie and FC Bayern always seek optimal performance and set ambitious targets and objectives. If we combine our energy, we'll certainly be able to achieve a huge amount for our supporters and friends, for the region, and for our many young fans.“
Fan activities planned
The shared base of Munich underlines the regional focus of the partnership. The primary goal is to involve and enthuse the appropriate target groups from all over the Bavarian region. E.ON Energie will support Bayern in many ways, including fan activities and proactive involvement in Bavarian youth football. Before the start of the current season, one lucky U-11 team will benefit from a unique experience, the one-off chance to appear on their team photo with their FC Bayern idols.
The premium partnership between E.ON Energie and FC Bayern will also see the service provider offer energy-related consulting services to the football club, in optimising the energy mix at the Allianz Arena and in the new ServiceCenter at the Säbener Strasse.
Fans v pros
The fans will be the focus when Bayern face Hamburger SV on Bundesliga Matchday 1. Together with Bayern, E.ON Energie has devised a special treat for the supporters at the Allianz Arena, centred on the "E.ON Shooting Energy Tool“, allowing fans to measure their shooting power directly against the professionals. The fans with the hardest shots will appear on the stadium video walls.
