'We blew it as a team'

Borowski’s brace to no avail

If Tim Borowski had been told beforehand he would score twice in his first game against former club Werder Bremen, he would doubtless have been overjoyed. As it happened, he was consumed with frustration. “I can hardly believe we’ve conceded five goals. We were absolutely terrible,” the 28-year-old admitted after Bayern’s nightmare Saturday.

Borowski and FCB lost 5-2 at home to the visitors from the north. “In the event, it makes no difference who scored. We blew it as a team today,” declared the former Bremen man after coming on as a half-time sub. “There’s bound to be criticism after a performance like that, and we’ll have to take it on the chin. The next few days won’t be particularly pleasant.“
