After what Jürgen Klinsmann himself described as the midweek "debacle" away to Barcelona, his players went out and served up the right reaction in the Bundesliga on Saturday. The champions dominated proceedings at the Allianz Arena and ended up beating Eintracht Frankfurt 4-0. "Frankfurt are hardly Barcelona, but it's still a big result for us,“ goalscorer Bastian Schweinsteiger commented.
Reaction to Bayern v Frankfurt:
Jürgen Klinsmann: "The team's given an excellent display, and reacted superbly to the debacle in Barcelona. It hurt a lot, and we had to make it up to our fans. It was basically done and dusted after an hour, and it turned into a gorgeous spring day. We have big plans for Tuesday night, because we want to make a fitting exit from the Champions League."
Mark van Bommel: "Our aim was to camp out in our opponents' half right from the start, and we did that very well. Obviously, luck was on our side in that Franck's shot went in after just three minutes. We settled to the task right away after that. We deserved the win.“
