On the eve of the Champions League quarter-final return at home to Barcelona, Bayern coach Jürgen Klinsmann announced two positive developments on the selection front. Philipp Lahm is fit again after a lay-off with a calf injury, and Daniel van Buyten has returned to Munich from compassionate leave.
Van Buyten has spent the last two weeks with his family in Belgium, where his father was chronically ill. However, the illness has now responded to treatment and Van Buyten is back in Munich. The defender completed the final pre-match training session on Easter Monday and will be part of Klinsmann’s matchday squad for the meeting with the Spanish league leaders.
