'It was fun today'

The 4-1 victory over PSV means FC Bayern consolidate second place in Group D, with table-toppers Atlético very much within reach. The Bavarians were relieved following Wednesday's clear-cut success after a run of three matches without a win. "It was a good reaction from my players. The attitude was right," coach Carlo Ancelotti enthused. "We hit the gas from the very first minute," said Thomas Müller, who opened the scoring.

Reaction to Bayern v PSV Eindhoven

Carlo Ancelotti: "We played well, It was a good reaction from my players. The attitude was right, the match against Frankfurt was a good lesson for us. 70 minutes were good, but in the meantime, after 30 minutes, we eased off a bit. It was over after our third goal. PSV could have scored another one, but we too could have had more goals. We have to give it everything in the next few matches to maintain our chances of winning the group."

Arjen Robben: "We started well and were dominant, and we created chances as well. We made use of our quality up front. After the second goal our positional play wasn't good at times. You always have to watch out if you're only attacking. They were dangerous, we lost control to a certain extent. It went on for five to ten minutes after the break. After Eindhoven pulled one back it was dangerous two or three times, but then we did well again and won deservedly. We played very good football at times."

Thomas Müller: "We hit the gas from the very first minute. We attacked especially in the first 30 minutes. It was fun today. We wanted to turn in a better display than in the last few matches. The first goal was important because we regretted the missed chances at the beginning."

Phillip Cocu (PSV Eindhoven coach): "Today we saw the difference between us and a team who punish slight mistakes. We struggled in the first 20, 25 minutes. Bayern applied lots of pressure, we didn't find our way into the game. After the second goal we clawed our way back and continued to do so in the second half. But even if you're 2-1 down you have to be compact, and we weren't. We made it difficult for ourselves in the second half, I'm very disappointed about that."
