Bayern set new club record

FC Bayern's impressive display away to Arsenal on Tuesday evening yielded lots of interesting facts and stats. fcbayern.com has delved into the figures following the 5-1 victory in the Champions League last sixteen return leg.

2 – Arturo Vidal scored his first brace for FC Bayern.

3 – Bayern have won all three of their last meetings with Arsenal by 5-1 scorelines!

6 – FC Bayern have made it to the CL quarter-finals for the sixth time in a row, setting a new club record! Overall the men from Munich have booked a berth in the last eight for the 16th time. No other team has achieved this feat as often!

7 – Bayern have scored at least five goals for the seventh time in a Champions League knockout round, topping the rankings ahead of FC Barcelona on four times!

11 – Carlo Ancelotti has advanced to the Champions League quarter-finals for the 11th time. Only Sir Alex Ferguson achieved this more often, 12 times.

100 – Franck Ribéry made his 100th European appearance, contesting 84 of them for FC Bayern. The Frenchman has surpassed Bernd Dürnberger (83) and is now eighth in Bayern's all-time rankings.

126 – Arjen Robben scored his 126th competitive goal for FC Bayern, overtaking Claudio Pizarro. The Dutchman is now second only to Giovane Elber (140 goals) in the club's all-time non-German scorer rankings.
