The day began earlier than usual for the World's Best Goalkeeper. Prior to Wednesday's training session Manuel Neuer featured in the FC Bayern TV LIVE 1-1 Talk (first broadcast on Wednesday at 18.30 CET, rerun at 20.55). The 30-year-old talked in detail and exclusively about his beginnings, his goalkeeper play, his passion for tennis and of course the current situation at FC Bayern.
"We're on a run, but we know it isn't over. The crucial weeks are still ahead of us," said Neuer, looking forward to the upcoming challenges in the Bundesliga, the DFB Cup and the Champions League. "March is a decisive month for us. For now we're awaiting the Champions League draw."
The personnel situation might prove Bayern's trump card in the race for the titles. Every single Bayern pro completed the squad programme on Wednesday! "All players are fit at the moment, but I'd rather not talk about it," Neuer said with a grin, and went on to explain: "The last time we were in a situation like this and talked about it some of us sustained injuries straightaway. It really hurt in the important matches." But Neuer is optimistic: "We're glad things are how they are. We want to keep it up for as long as possible, and even extend our lead if possible."
