Ancelotti: 'A good day for us'

FC Bayern continued their winning streak against Frankfurt on Saturday, and the result at the Allianz Arena was not their only reason to celebrate. "It's a good day for us, with nice results at other stadiums too," Carlo Ancelotti said after Bayern extended their lead at the top of the standings to ten points. However, the FCB head coach was also self-critical.

Reaction to Bayern v Frankfurt

Carlo Ancelotti: "It's a good day for us, with nice results at other stadiums too. But the first half was very difficult, Frankfurt were better than we were. To be honest they didn't deserve to go two down before half-time. We were better in the second half, we controlled the match well. We have a comfortable cushion at the top now, but we have to stay focused. Many matches await us."

Manuel Neuer: "Frankfurt were very aggressive and plucky, we had some problems at the beginning. Lack of concentration especially in our passing game and build-up play allowed Frankfurt to find their way into the match and create chances. We improved it over the course of the match, we increasingly clicked into gear and deservedly won due to a good second half."

Thomas Müller: "We had a difficult start today. We lacked concentration as a team in the first 30 minutes, we made many mistakes. Frankfurt defended high up the pitch and perhaps forced the mistakes. However, they failed to punish us, and then we demonstrated our quality."

Niko Kovac (Frankfurt coach): "We did a very good job for 37 minutes and caused Bayern problems. But we're failing to score the opener at the moment. If you don't take your chances in Munich it's no surprise Bayern score. We still take far more positive than negative things from the match."
