As he nears the end of his career, Bayern captain Philipp Lahm added an unusual honour to his collection today. Together with Thomas Müller, the FCB captain received a certificate on behalf of the team for their entry into the Guinness World Records. Bayern have been recognised for their run of 16 consecutive home wins in the Champions League – a world record!
“You don’t get records like this very often. It’s a first time for me. Titles I have a few more of,” joked Lahm. Müller promised: “The certificate will be given a special place.” Bayern set the record from 17 September 2014 (1-0 against Manchester City) to 15 February 2017 (5-1 against Arsenal). In recent years Robert Lewandowski and Jérôme Boateng have also made it into Guinness World Records.
