Csernai's record about to be broken?
Bayern's run between August and October 1980 was an impressive one. Coach Pal Csernai's side won 14 competitive games in a row, which remains the club's longest winning run since joining the Bundesliga in 1965 – until today? Jupp Heynckes and his team have already matched the record, but can they break it this afternoon against Hertha BSC? fcbayern.com has rounded up some other interesting stats on the fixture.
Strong record against Hertha
Statistically the chances of setting a new club record are good. Bayern have won 38 of their 65 Bundesliga meetings with Hertha, drawing 18 times and losing just nine. The Reds are also unbeaten in the last 13 (11 wins, two draws). At home their record is even better: FCB are unbeaten in 22 home games against the 'Old Lady', winning the last ten.
Master of the house
It's not just against Hertha that Bayern are a force at the Allianz Arena. FCB have not lost in 33 Bundesliga games (27 wins, six draws), their longest unbeaten run since the Arena opened in 2005 and their longest at all since a 43-match streak between 1979 and 1982.
Berliners in good away form
However, Hertha travel to Munich in good form on the road. Dardai's side have lost just one of their last eight away games, winning three and drawing four. This is one of the reasons why they sit in 11^th^ place in the table with an even record of seven wins, seven losses and nine draws, with a goal difference of 0. Bayern, in contrast, boast the fifth-best record after 23 games in Bundesliga history with 59 points and a goal difference of +37.
Three Bayern players are one booking away from a suspension. Thomas Müller, Sandro Wagner and Rafinha are all currently on four yellow cards. Hertha's Marvin Plattenhardt is in the same position.
The man responsible for the cards today is Guido Winkmann along with his assistants Christian Bandurski and Arno Blos. Martin Petersen is the fourth official while Markus Schmidt will be acting as the video assistant. Winkmann was in charge for Bayern's 3-1 win over Hannover earlier in the campaign.
