A Twitter user recently asked James whether he preferred scoring goals or setting them up. James Rodríguez answered: "I prefer setting up a goal but I also like scoring." The Colombian did not give an unequivocal answer, but then again, he does not have to. After all, both are his strenghts, and he has deeply impressed the fans. The 26-year-old won the fan poll for the Player of the Month in January.
James claimed 47 percent of the votes in the fcbayern.com poll, beating Thomas Müller on 12 and Kingsley Coman on 11 percent to the January crown. James thrilled the fans with wonderful goals like the free-kick against Leverkusen, delicate assists but also strong tackles in defence.
FC Bayern "hit the jackpot" with James, Jupp Heynckes said recently. "Considering how he moves, how he's settled in, how he laughs and how relaxed he is, he's arrived, and he's happy in Munich." The Colombian has scored seven goals since Heynckes took over in October, more than any other Bayern pro. James was involved in five goals in the four Bundesliga matches after the winter break, scoring two and setting up three goals, more than any other Bundesliga pro after the break.
