His brilliant stop to prevent Karim Bellarabi levelling the scores in the DFB Cup semi-final or his great reflex save to keep out an effort from Timo Hübers with the score at 0-0 in the Bundesliga match at Hannover – the list of impressive saves made by Sven Ulreich to keep Bayern on winning ways in April was long. This has drawn the approval of the Bayern fans with the 29-year-old once again voted Bayern Player of the Month in April. Following the awards in November and December, this is the third time the FCB keeper has been top of the pops with the fans.
23 per cent of Bayern supporters voted for Ulreich just ahead of the other nominees. James Rodríguez was in second spot on 18 per cent with Joshua Kimmich third on 15.
Three fans win too
The poll was not only a success for Ulreich but also for three Bayern fans who submitted their votes with this month’s winners receiving a signed shirt. Hans Steitz, Mario Ibrahim and Franziska Duschinger are all lucky winners of a shirt signed by Sven Ulreich. Congratulations.
