The new FC Bayern away jersey for the coming season was unveiled on Thursday morning, and only hours later the team were out training in their new kit. This was, however, not the only peculiarity for the gathered media as Peter Hermann was also back at Säbener Straße.

The 66-year-old, who will be one of Niko Kovac’s assistants this season, will lead the training for those international players who are not on the Audi Summer Tour to the USA and will return to Munich on 25 July. On Thursday he was able to get a first impression of the new head coach.

There were also familiar faces there to greet Hermann, including Javi Martinez. The Spaniard is back training again after cutting short Tuesday’s session with a knee problem. Kingsley Coman, on the other hand, has continued with his individual programme in the performance centre, while Arturo Vidal was working with Lars Lukas Mai and fitness coach Thomas Wilhelmi on a neighbouring pitch.

For the rest of the team, Kovac had a tactical session planned which included work on set pieces. The numerous journalists present did not disturb the 46-year-old at all, and all the better because Bayern are expecting plenty more spectators at the weekend. On Saturday FCB face Paris Saint-Germain in their first friendly of the summer in Klagenfurt, Austria. The new away kit will be worn for the first time in that game.
