FC Bayern and Borussia Mönchengladbach meet for the 101st time in the Bundesliga on Saturday evening. Hamburger SV (106) and Werder Bremen (104) are the only sides who have Bayern have played against more times than the Foals. With 48 wins, 29 draws and 23 defeats, the head-to-head record is clearly in favour of the record German champions. fcbayern.com has picked out some other interesting facts and stats ahead of Saturday's prime-time clash:
Era-defining teams of the 70s
No two teams have shaped a decade quite like FC Bayern and Borussia Mönchengladbach did in the 1970s. Between 1969 and 1977, every German league title was claimed by either the Foals (five) or FCB (four). Both teams also achieved three successive titles during that period: Bayern from 1972-1974 and then Borussia from 1975-1977.
Saturday night fever
Saturday evening is the prime-time slot in the Bundesliga - and recently Bayern have always delivered a performance. The Reds have won their last five games at 18:30 CEST on a Saturday, with an impressive goal difference of 18-2. What's more, they've won their last 13 at the Allianz Arena. A note of caution, though: their last defeat in a Saturday evening fixture was a 2-1 loss at Gladbach in November 2017.
Home advantage
Munich has not been fertile ground for Gladbach. In their last 50 away matches against Bayern, the Foals have won just three, with 11 draws and 36 Bayern victories. Two of those wins did come in recent years, though: in August 2011 (1-0) and March 2015 (2-0).
Gladbach struggling on the road
The Foals travel to Bavaria looking to improve their recent away record. Dieter Hecking's men have won just one of their last 14 matches away from home (1-0 at Hannover in February 2018) and are winless in their last eight (four defeats and four draws).
