Maiden goals and record losses

Jérôme Boateng has very fond memories of Fortuna Düsseldorf. The centre-back scored the last goal in the hard-fought 3-2 victory over the Rhineland outfit in March 2013. It was his maiden Bundesliga goal in his 130th match. Bayern and Fortuna cross swords again on Saturday, and fcbayern.com has delved into the facts and stats.

Positive overall record

Bayern have won 27 out of 46 Bundesliga encounters with Fortuna, losing ten and drawing nine, with 106 goals scored and 59 conceded. The Bavarians have won all of their last four matches against Düsseldorf and scored at least two goals in each of the last seven editions of the fixture (22 overall).

Promising record against bottom clubs

Fortuna are lying 17th in the table, and teams at the bottom end often struggle in Munich. Bayern have only lost once at the Allianz Arena to a side in 17th or 18th place, a 1-0 reverse against Hannover in November 2006. The German record champions have won all of their last 12 duels against basement boys, scoring 32 goals and conceding only four.

Düsseldorf's bogey opponents

Fortuna have lost 27 matches and conceded 106 goals against Bayern, more than against any other Bundesliga side. Düsseldorf's biggest away defeat dates back to February 1982, a 7-0 drubbing at Munich's Olympic Stadium.

Can Fortuna turn the tide?

The promoted side have struggled so far this season, taking eight points from 12 matches. Besides, Düsseldorf have not won in 19 matches on foreign soil, losing 15 and drawing four. However, Friedhelm Funkel's troops laid down a marker before the international break when they downed Hertha Berlin 4-1, scoring as many goals in this match as in their last eight Bundesliga matches altogether.
