'Spine-tingling moment' for debutant Jeong

The Allianz Arena clocks showed 80 minutes had been played when Niko Kovac brought on Wooyeong Jeong for world champion Thomas Müller. Bayern against Benfica in the Champions League at the Allianz Arena in front of a 70,000 crowd: a childhood dream came true for Jeong, the first South Korean to wear the Bayern jersey.

"I'm very happy and incredibly proud to have made my first appearance for this great club," Jeong said after the match. "It was a spine-tingling moment for me, an incredible feeling I'll always remember." The forward slotted seamlessly into his team's strong performance in the 5-1 victory over Benfica, impressing with his pace and technique in his dribbles.

Jeong, who has made 16 appearances for the reserves in the Regionalliga so far this season, scoring six and setting up three goals, has now got a taste of first-team football and wants more: "This incredible experience encourages me to continue to work hard to take the next steps and make many more appearances."
