Thiago was one of Bayern's most consistent contributors until his injury. The midfielder appeared in 14 out of 15 competitive fixtures until the end of October before sustaining ligament damage to his right ankle in the DFB Cup match against SV Rödinghausen. The 27-year-old was one of Bayern's key players last month, the fans of the German record champions naming him October Player of the Month.

Thiago claimed 22.5 percent of the votes, slightly ahead of Serge Gnabry on 17.5, Joshua Kimmich finishing third on 13.6 percent. Thiago made six appearances in October, playing the full 90 minutes in five of them. The Spain international was only substituted against Rödinghausen after 75 minutes. He was one of the key players in the cup triumph and scored the match-winner in the 2-1 victory over Mainz.

Three fans also win

Thiago wasn't the only person who enjoyed success in the vote. Three Bayern fans who voted each won a jersey signed by this month's winner. Congratulations to Ilona Kellner, Jürgen Graf and Maik Hoffmann who have got their hands on a signed Thiago shirt!
