After two days off and the performance tests on Tuesday, Niko Kovac's charges returned to the training pitch on Wednesday. The 47-year-old welcomed back Franck Ribéry and Joshua Kimmich, who picked up slight knocks during the win against Werder Bremen. Arjen Robben missed out again with his thigh problem, though, while Kingsley Coman did some jogging before continuing in the gym.
With three days left before the Bavarian derby against 1. FC Nürnberg, Kovac used the time to work on some finer tactical points. Switching to two holding midfielders, the focus during the open session was on the coordination between the back four and the two central midfielders. The Bayern boss was also not deterred by the watchful eyes of the roughly 250 spectators and frequently got involved in the action himself as the ball distributor.
