After a very successful weekend and Serge Gnabry's contract extension, more good news followed in Tuesday morning's training session. Arjen Robben completed parts of the squad programme for the first time in a long time. The winger last took part in team training at the beginning of February. He made his last appearance against Benfica in the Champions League at the end of November and has been suffering from thigh problems since then.
Besides the Dutchman, the 1,200 fans watching the public session welcomed two further returnees. Franck Ribéry (gastroenteritis) and Leon Goretzka (ankle problem) completed the full squad programme, whereas Corentin Tolisso (cruciate ligament rupture) continued his individual rehab programme on an adjacent pitch while Kingsley Coman (torn muscle) completed laps. Only David Alaba missed the session with a tendon problem.
Niko Kovac had prepared a session with many match situations, and his players were very committed and trained at a high tempo. The Bavarians are primed and highly motivated for the upcoming phase of three games in eight days, beginning with the match against VfL Wolfsburg on Saturday at 15.30 CET. Bayern are buoyed by the good news on and off the pitch.
